Bernd Lochner

Bernd Lochner studied law at the LMU Munich and was admitted to the bar in March 1999. In parallel with his professional career, Bernd completed his postgraduate studies Executive Master of European & International Business Law at the HSG St. Gallen (E.M.B.L.-HSG) in 2003 and Executive Master of Laws in Property Law at the UFL Liechtenstein (LL.M.-UFL) in 2007. Bernd successfully completed his training as a Business Mediator in 2005 and as an Advanced Negotiator^® at the Schranner Institute in Zurich in 2018.

Bernd Lochner has more than 20 years of professional experience as a lawyer in a legal and tax consulting firm in Munich, as Head of Legal & Human Resources at a large medium-sized special purpose machine manufacturer in Munich, as Head Business Development/Legal at a large trust company (Kaiser Partner) in Liechtenstein and most recently as Head Group Tax Center at VP Bank AG. Bernd Lochner was also as a delegate of VP Bank AG a member of the Liechtenstein expert commissions on FATCA, AIA and most recently DAC6. Due to his activities in various industries (consulting / production / finance) Bernd has an extraordinary extensive practical knowledge and an associated understanding for the respective needs, which enables him to develop business model & risk-adequate, implementable and pragmatic solutions.

His focus is on advising financial intermediaries and legal entities of all kinds in regulatory and tax-related areas, such as compliance/due diligence obligations, AIA, FATCA, DAC6, Corporate Governance, Digital Taxation, International Taxation and, in particular, in all implementation issues and structuring options in connection with the check for reasonableness of the substantive requirements of legal entities as well as in general regulatory issues in connection with banks. Furthermore, Bernd Lochner has extensive experience in the management and implementation of large projects with financial intermediaries (primarily banks and trust companies) and in the regulatory area in general as well as in the context of acquisitions and due diligence reviews.

In his function as Advanced Negotiator^®, Bernd is also available as a coach for the implementation, training and support of negotiation teams in demanding situations.
